The WES Act (Winning Every Second): A proposed youth sports safety law that mandates emergency action plans, AED access, and certified safety training for all school athletic programs. Named in honor of Wesley Leo Schmeling, a young athlete whose life was forever changed by a preventable sports injury, the act aims to protect student-athletes through clear protocols, equipment access, and accountability. It empowers moms, coaches, and communities to demand safer sports environments—because every second counts.

Athlete Safety Starts Here
FUTUREMVP’s Athlete Safety Workshop is designed for school athletes preparing to enter high school sports. Guided by a trusted network of medical and sports professionals, this program delivers safety-first education that empowers families and athletes to make informed decisions before the season begins.
Participants gain:

Education on healthy hydration habits across all sports

We don’t wait for emergencies. We prepare. We protect. We promote habits that last a lifetime.
Volunteer. Donate. Partner. Let’s keep Georgia’s athletes safe—every season, every sport, every time.

Making a Difference
One Player at a Time
The WES Act was born from heartbreak—but it’s driven by hope. Named in honor of Wesley Leo Schmeling, a beloved son whose life was forever changed by a sports injury, this legislation stands for every athlete impacted by preventable harm in school sports.
Wesley was the angel God used to awaken a mission. His story lit the path—but the movement is about more than one child. It’s about the thousands of families who’ve felt the ripple effect of injury, and the communities that rally behind them.
FUTUREMVP is leading the charge to make school sports safer—through advocacy, education, and action. From moms to legislators, coaches to school leaders, we’re building a united front to protect our kids.
Because when one child is hurt, it doesn’t just break a family—it shakes a community.
Support the WES Act. Support the mission. Support the legacy. Donate today to help us protect our FUTUREMVPs.

FUTUREMVP Annual Giving Campaign
Raise the Standard. Protect the Lives of Our Student-Athletes.
Join FUTUREMVP in our Annual Giving Campaign — a statewide movement to protect the health and safety of high school student-athletes across Georgia and Alabama. This campaign invites donors, families, and community partners to invest in prevention programs, injury training, and legislative advocacy that save lives on and off the field.
Over the past year, FUTUREMVP has mobilized over $50,000 in gifts to fund heart screenings, first aid kits, AEDs, and safety education for thousands of athletes. Now, we’re raising the bar — and we need your help.
Whether it’s $10 to energize moms at a safety pep rally or $1,500 to place a defibrillator in a youth sports program, every gift makes a difference.
Campaign Dates: November 18 – December 31, 2025 Goal: $75,000 to expand FUTUREMVP’s reach and impact Ways to Give: Online at www.futuremvp.org, by mail, or through school-based team drives
Together, we can ensure no family faces the tragedy of preventable sports injuries without the tools, training, and advocacy they deserve.
